A sermon they couldn’t ignore. A message they refuse to follow.
On Inauguration Day 2025, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde stood before Trump, Vance, and the world—and spoke a truth they did not want to hear. In a moment meant for unity, she instead delivered a bold call for justice:
“May God grant us the strength and courage to honor the dignity of every human being, to speak the truth to one another in love, and walk humbly with each other and our God for the good of all people.”
While she spoke of dignity and truth, Trump sat stone-faced. J.D. Vance refused to stand. Right-wing media erupted in outrage, proving once again that words of justice shake the foundations of those who cling to power through cruelty.
This design honors the power of speaking truth to oppression. It’s a message for all who believe in dignity, love, and justice—and a reminder that faith and resistance go hand in hand.
🕊 When they refuse to listen, we make it impossible to ignore. Wear the truth. Share the message.
